Warriors' Weekend Wrap-up: 2/24 & 2/25

The Boca Warriors had a busy weekend, with races Friday (2/24) & Saturday (2/25)


The David Bowden Middle School Meet 2023 | Friday night


Friday we had some stellar performances, led by Alex Palakar & Makaela Morilla both qualifying for the FLYRA Middle School State Meet in May.


2 Runners Qualify for States


Alex ran the 1600m in 5:37.90, easily beating the 5:51.00 qualifying mark needed to make States and took 1st in the 1600m.


In the 800m, Makaela's 2:30.91 handily beat the 2:34.00 standard to make States, and took 1st Place in the 800m.


Great job Ladies !!

The Girls' Middle School Team was 2nd out of 6 teams, while the Boys placed 3rd out of 7 teams.

Noelle Barthelette:

  • 2nd Place - 400m (1:06:14)

Gianna Gallego:

  • 2nd Place - 1600m (5:56:89)

Adriana Perrette:

  • 3rd Place - 1600m (6:03:07)

Ek Stroup:

  • 1st Place - Long Jump (11-07.50)

Boys


Mason Polonia:

  • 2nd Place - 800m (2:41:45)

Erik Moss:

  • 2nd Place - 1600m (5:33:81)

  • 3rd Place - 800m (2:44:74)

The Boys' 4x800m Team:

  • 2nd Place (10:30:52)

Speed Capitol South Florida | Saturday


On Saturday, some of our younger runners participated in the Speed Capital's Invitational.


The Elementary Team continues to improve race-to-race. Many new PRS and overall improvements for our atheletes.

Girls


Ana Lucia Barba:

  • 2nd Place Girls 1500m (6:07.03), 9 year-old Division

Hayden Frey:

  • 3rd Place - Girls 800m (2:51.39), 10 year-old Division

Faith Gladstone:

  • 2nd Place - Girls 800m (2:51.37), 10 year-old Division

  • 3rd Place - Girls 1500m (6:16.14), 10 year-old Division

Arielle Gorlovetzky:

  • 1st Place - Girls 1500m (5:55.57), 9 year-old Division

  • 3rd Place - Girls 800m (3:02:13), 9 year-old Division

Mila Valderrama:

  • 1st Place - Girls 1500m (7:12.19), 7-8 year-old Division


Boys


Mark Barba:

  • 1st Place - Boys 1500m (7:42.10), 10 year-old Division

Michael Morilla:

  • 2nd Place - Boys 80 Meter Hurdles (18:88), 12 year-old Division
